File Size Limits & Storage Quotas
Onlinedrive manages storage through quotas and upload limits to ensure fair usage.
Upload Limits
- Single-request upload: Files up to 100 MB are sent in one request
- Multi-part upload: Larger files are uploaded in parts and resume automatically if your connection drops
- Maximum file size: 5 GB per file on every plan
Storage Quotas
Your storage quota is the total amount of data you can store in Onlinedrive. It includes:
- All files across all your owned workspaces
- Files in Trash (they still count until permanently deleted)
It does not include:
- Files in workspaces owned by others (those count toward the owner's quota)
Checking Your Usage
- Look at the storage bar in the header of the Files view (next to the workspace chip)
- Or go to Account → Subscriptions to see usage for each of your drive accounts
The usage bar shows used of total (e.g., "1.2 GB of 250 GB")
What Happens When You're Full
When your storage quota is reached:
- You can't upload new files
- You can still download, preview, and share existing files
- You can still delete files to free up space
- You'll see an error message when attempting to upload
Freeing Up Space
To free up storage:
- Delete files you no longer need (right-click → Move to Trash)
- Go to Trash and click Empty Trash to permanently remove files
- Remember: files in Trash still count toward your quota
Increasing Your Quota
- Upgrade your plan — Higher plans include more storage
- Use a redemption code — Codes can activate a larger plan
- Check Account → Subscriptions for your current plan
