Uploading Files (Single & Multi)
Onlinedrive supports uploading files of all sizes. Here's how the upload system works.
Single File Upload
For files up to 100 MB, Onlinedrive uses a simple single-request upload:
- Click Upload or drag-and-drop your file
- The file is sent directly to your storage region
- A progress bar shows the upload status
- The file appears in your current folder when done
Multi-File Upload
You can upload multiple files at once:
- Select multiple files in the file picker (hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple)
- Or drag and drop several files at once
- Each file uploads independently with its own progress indicator
- Files appear as they complete
Large File Upload (Multipart)
Files larger than 100 MB are automatically uploaded in parts:
- The file is split into smaller parts
- Each part uploads independently
- If your connection drops, only the unfinished parts are sent again — the upload resumes rather than starting over
- This makes large uploads more reliable, especially on slower connections
You don't need to do anything special — Onlinedrive detects the file size and switches to a multi-part upload automatically.
Upload Restrictions
- Your upload must fit within your remaining storage quota
- A single file can be up to 5 GB on every plan
- The file is stored in the active workspace and current folder
- All common file types are supported
- File names are preserved as-is
Troubleshooting
- Upload stuck? Check your internet connection and try again
- Quota exceeded? Delete unwanted files or upgrade your plan
- Upload failed? Single files are limited to 5 GB — anything larger needs to be split before uploading
