Sharing Files with Others

Onlinedrive offers multiple ways to share files with others, whether they have an account or not.

Create a shareable link that anyone with the link can use:

  1. Right-click the file you want to share
  2. Select Share
  3. Turn on Enable public access
  4. Copy the public link
  5. Send the link to anyone

Link Settings

  • Expiration Date — the link stops working after a date you choose
  • Allow Download — turn off for view-only access
  • Allow Import — lets recipients save a copy into their own drive
  • Password — protect the link with a password

Share with Specific Users

Share directly with other Onlinedrive users:

  1. Right-click the file
  2. Select Share
  3. Enter the email address of the person you want to share with
  4. Click Add

The recipient will see the file under Sharing → Shared with me.

Managing Shares

View Active Shares

Go to Sharing in the sidebar and open the Sharing tab to see all files you've shared and their status.

Remove a Share

  1. Go to Sharing
  2. Find the file
  3. Select it and open the details panel
  4. Use Revoke link or Revoke access — or choose Unshare from the right-click menu

Sharing vs. Workspaces

  • Sharing is best for individual files or one-off collaboration
  • Workspaces are better for ongoing team collaboration with many files
  • Shared files don't move — the recipient sees them under Sharing → Shared with me
  • Workspace files appear in the workspace file browser for all members
